Nigeria To Send Astronaut To Space – Nigeria will have sent
astronauts to space before 2030, according to Minister of Science &
Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu.

Dr. Onu said this during a visit from the Director-General
of the Defence Space Agency, Air Vice Marshall Victor Udoh and other members of
the management team.
According to Onu, the Federal Government was working
actively already to make sure Nigeria had sent an astronauts into space by
2030.
“The space programme is very important for a country like
Nigeria,” he said. “The ministry will work very hard in the years ahead to
strengthen all the structures of the agencies that will help us to ensure that
the nation plays a role in the space,” he said.
He added that space “is a major asset which nations like
Nigeria must also be involved in for the purposes of protecting national
interest.”
