Dunga Reveals Why He Didn’t Pick Pato

Dunga picked 35-year-old Ricardo Oliveira over Alexandre Pato, but has explained the reason why he chose to do so.
Pato has been one of the standout stars of the Brazilian season so far after rediscovering the form that saw him move to Europe in 2007.
Dunga opted to pick Oliveira over Pato after Firmino picked up an injury and has explained the reason, is due to the different style both forwards operate in.
“Ricardo Oliveira is the top-scorer of the Brazilian league,” Dunga told UOL.
“He scores from the right, from the left, from inside and outside the box, at home and away.
“He plays in the [centre-forward] position we need, but Pato plays on the wing where we already have Douglas Costa.
“You know when I first picked Douglas Costa they said he was not good enough. But he became good once he went to Bayern Munich.”
Dunga went on to question Pato’s emotional strength after the 26-year-old publically vented his frustrations at not being called up for the matches against Chile and Venezuela.
“Everyone has a second chance to improve,” Dunga said.
“We’re talking about the emotional issue. He moaned because he was not called up, and then he was no longer able to produce the same level of form that day,” he added, referencing Pato’s underwhelming showing in a goalless draw against Chapecoense the evening the Brazil squad was announced.

The senate met Today, Sept. 29th, for the first time since Mr. Saraki appeared before the tribunal, and 84 senators co-sponsored a motion to give him a “vote of confidence”.
Similarly, the Special assistant on new media to Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Bamikole Omishore, released a list of 84 senators who passed a vote of confidence on his principal.

In the same vein, Senator David Umar, Niger East, who read the motion, initially said it was sponsored by 84 Senators; nevertheless, the Chairman Senate Committee on Business and Rules, Babajide Omowarare, Osun East, asked that his name be removed from the list.
That brings the final list to 83 senators, who passed the vote of confidence on Senator Saraki.

Saudi Stampede: I Stepped On Bodies To Escape Death – Survivor

A survivor of the Thursday stampede
at Muna Camp, a few kilometres
away from the holy city of Makkah,
Saudi Arabia, Magaji Falalu Zarewa,
has told Saturday Nation how he
watched helplessly as pilgrims died.
Zarewa, who is a pilgrim from Kano
State, said he narrowly escaped
death himself, adding that his
Ventolin Inhaler saved him from
death.
“I stepped on dead bodies to escape
to a safer place to stay and recover.
Lifeless bodies of pilgrims became
steps to escape routes,” he stated.
Zarewa, who is a student of the
Islamic University of Madina, also in
Saudi Arabia, said he has been
performing hajj annually since the
last 10 years.
He added, “The incident occurred
around few minutes after 9:00am
local time. The problem started when
a large crowd of people who had
already stoned the Jamrat (devil)
were returning through the route of
people going towards the Jamarat
from Muzdalifa. That caused
obstruction of movement and
generated heat. People started
collapsing. That is the first cause of
people’s death. There was no water
around the area.
“Then, the major problem and what I
call the major cause of death is
nations whose tents are close to the
scene of the stampede. Countries like
Algeria and Morocco locked access
roads to their tents. Because, when
the heat was becoming unbearable,
people wanted to enter the nearby
camps to decongest the main road,
get air and water to drink.
“So, people started climbing the
tents. I also got a strategic pillar of
the tent and climbed, then I started
breathing better until people began
to shake the tent and it finally
collapsed on many of us. I didn’t
know how I came out of the tent
because people were still climbing on
us. I just saw myself as people were
pouring water on me.
“When I recovered a little, I quickly
grabbed my inhaler, because I am
asthmatic and used it. Because I was
still gasping for air. Then, the white
tent was covered with blood and I
watched helplessly as other pilgrims
died.
“After I fully recovered, I saw a heap
of dead bodies serving as steps for
other people to escape. By then,
rescue team had arrived, but they
were no longer concerned about the
dead bodies, they were only picking
people with tendencies to survive.
“Then, I was telling the soldiers who
were also trying to control the crowd
that, the best they can do is to find a
way of stopping pilgrims who have
already performed the stoning of the
devil from returning through the
same route used by people who are
going to the Jamrat. They told me,
because I speak Arabic, that they
were helpless. I told them can’t you
people security agents, enter the
camps of the nations around here
and force them to open their gate, so
that you can divert people to pass
through their tents? And that was
what they eventually did and people
started entering. At that point,
whether you like it or not, you must
step on corpses to get out of the
crowd.
“Then, people started to look for
water everywhere, if they see you
with water, it was like you are
holding life. In my presence,
someone urinated and poured the
urine on his own head just to get
refreshed.
“Three Fulani women who followed
us because they saw me and my
friends as guides died in the
stampede. Although I didn’t see their
corpses, my friend said he saw one
of them crying as people were
stepping on her and she died in the
process.”

Teenage Okada Rider Dies From Electrocution In Otukpo, Benue State (Photos)

A teenage boy was on Thursday,
electrocuted in Otukpo, Benue State.
The sad incident occurred around
7.30am at Vanapo Hotel junction.
The victim and two others were
riding on a motorcycle to an Abattoir
when they got stuck in a puddle of
water on the road, close to an
electric pole that was poorly
insulated.
Unfortunately, the victim fell into
the water and was immediately
electrocuted by shock waves. He died
on the spot while the two other
passengers escaped unharmed.
The survivors then alerted neighbors
who informed the police. With help
from the Power Holding Company,
the victims remains was evacuated
to the mortuary.

IGP Says Olu Falae Was Released Without Payment Of Ransom

The Inspector General of Police (IGP),
Solomon Arase, on Thursday said that
no ransom was paid for the release
of former Secretary of the
Government of the Federation, Olu
Falae .
Arase, who disclosed this to
journalists in Akure while handing
over Falae to his family, said the
police would soon release further
details on the rescue efforts.
The Commissioner of Police in the
state, Mike Ogbodu , as well as other
top officers of the force were also
present at the forum.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)
recalls that Falae was kidnapped on
Monday on his farm by suspected
Fulani herdsmen.
The abductors had reportedly
demanded N100 million initially as
ransom before reducing this to N90
million.

BayelsaDecides 2015: 11 Political Parties Bow To Gov. Dickson As Sole Candidate

Eleven political parties in Bayelsa State,
under the aegis of Inter-Party Advisory
Council (IPAC) and the Conference of
Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) have
given way to Governor Seriake Dickson as
their sole candidate for the December 5
general election.

The parties, which are in coalition,
include; KOWA, PPA, AA, Accord Party,
UPN, APA, HDP, YDP, Independent
Democrat (ID), ACPN and the NNPP.
Speaking with pressmen in Yenagoa,
State chairman of the CNPP, Mr. Lucky
Akpeli disclosed that the decision to
adopt Governor Dickson, who is the PDP
candidate, was based on his performance
and the assurance that the State is in a
safe hands.
He said that their decision was based on
Dickson’s track record and the parties’
conviction that the governor would deliver
more dividends of democracy when given
a second term in office.

Yobe: Police Constable Shoots Senior Colleagues During Homicide Case Investigation

A police constable, who was deployed to
Yobe State – name withheld – has
reportedly shot two of his colleagues
dead.

According to The Nation , the incident
which took place at the Nangere Police
Division in the state was reported to have
occurred in the early hours of Friday.
A source, who was present during the
incident, said the Police Constable shot
two other Inspectors at close range
following a disagreement on a homicide
case that was brought to the station.
“He shot himself after killing the
two other inspectors at the
station,” the source said.
The State commissioner, Zanna Ibrahim
confirmed the incident, when a call got to
her, saying:
” I am right now on my way to
Nangere to get first hand
information of what really
happen. I will get back to you on
my return to Damaturu.”

I Was Not Attacked – Saraki Explained What Really Happened

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki
has debunked widespread reports that
he was attacked on Thursday at the
eid kabir prayer ground in Ilorin,
Kwara state”
Saraki disclosed this in a statement
from his media office on Thursday.
It was earlier reported today that
Saraki was attacked by disgruntled
protesters and was pelted with stones
by those lamenting of not being paid
their salaries arrears.
“The attention of the Media Office of
the Senate President has been drawn
to media reports that the Senate
President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola
Saraki, was allegedly attacked at the
Eid Prayer Ground during the
prayers to mark the Eid-el-Kabir in
Ilorin.
“The Senate President arrived at the
venue this morning without any
incident, prayed with other Muslim
faithful, including the Emir of Ilorin,
His Royal Highness (HRH), Alhaji
Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, Speaker of the
Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt.
Hon Ali Ahmad and a former Chief
Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Alfa
Belgore, among others.
“Before the Senate President left the
prayer ground, he spoke to reporters
who had asked him about his
message for Nigerians to mark the
Eid-el-Kabir.
“We want to say that nothing can be
further from the truth as the Senate
President was never attacked nor
was there any attempt made on his
life to warrant him being ‘whisked
away’ as reported by a section of the
media.
“We however observe that there was
a protest allegedly staged by local
government employees over
purported non-payment of salaries
which hoodlums attempted to
hijacked but this development was
immediately curtailed by security
agents.
“Therefore, to say that the Senate
President was attacked at the venue
of the prayers is totally false and a
figment of the imagination of those
behind the story because the protest
was never targeted at him, neither
was any missile hurled at him”.
“The Kwara State Government has
since issued a statement in which it
stated that majority of the workers
in the state have received their
salaries and that those yet to receive
theirs will do so on Monday as
Thursday and Friday of this week are
public holidays”..

Sallah Attack.. Many Feared Killed As Boko Haram Attacks Monguno And Baga

Reports reaching DAILY POST from Maiduguri, the Borno state capital on Sallah reveals that, the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram attacked Monguno and Baga in the northern part of Borno state, killing many.

According to residents of the two local government taking refuge at Bakasi IDP camp, several people who returned home for Sallah were forced to return back to Maiduguri, but could not gain entrance as a result of restriction of vehicular movement for the Sallah in Maiduguri.

” we have to trek down from Shagari low cost to Bakasi last night because the soldiers could not allow us to come in with vehicle following the restriction for Sallah.

I do not think this Boko Haram is over as government wants us to believe.” Mammadu Ibrahim who returned to camp told newsmen in Maiduguri.

Speaking on the attack, he said, ” we learnt that Baga was attacked at about 12 midnight and by 2am, we were attacked at Monguno.

I do not know the number of casualties but certainly, many people were killed by the insurgents.”

It could be recalled that, suicide bomb attack in Maiduguri recently killed over 100 people.

PDP Plots To Present The Next Senate President If Saraki Is Found Guilty

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP is currently making plans to bring forward Nigeria’s next Senate President if Bukola Saraki is found guilty and then removed from office.
According to The NATION reports, the PDP is said to be working on a plan which will lead to the election of a new Senate President from the opposition party, should Saraki be convicted by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).

Asari Dokubo Says Buhari’s DSS Shut Down His Facebook Account

 

Alhaji Dokubo Asari, a former Niger Delta militant leader, has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of closing his Facebook account.

Speaking through his spokesperson, Rex Ekiugbo Anighoro, Asari issued a statement titled: “Buhari and APC: Depotism and the Confiscation of Freedom of Expression: Time Bomb Waiting to Explode.”
According to him, the president sent the Department of State Services (DSS) after him following his critical article against Buhari and his administration.

”Although we are not surprised at this junta’s long awaited modus, it remains a sad commentary that we are back to stone age where press freedom is endangered”.

Aisha Buhari Desires To Convert Aso Rock Children’s Church To Private Spa

 

Interestingly, added facts have started emerging over the controversial closure of the Children’s Church of the Aso Villa Chapel, located within the Nigerian Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The Trent has authoritatively revealed that Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari is moving for the closure of Aso Rock chapel, so as to use the place for her personal – state-of-the-art spa – project.

Recall, the media house broke the story exposing President Muhammadu Buhari’s moves to shutdown Christian activities within Presidential Villa on September 3, 2015.

Our investigations have now uncovered the mystery “personal project” of Aisha Buhari. According to a source close to the Presidency, the wife of the President is converting the Children’s Church of the Aso Villa Chapel to a state-of-the-art spa for her private use.
“We have heard a lot of things being reported in the media, but, let me tell you the whole truth, Mrs. Buhari is converting the place to a spa,” our source told our reporter, on condition of anonymity. “She moved in boxes and bags of creams, soaps, and other cosmetics she sold in her spa in Kaduna.”
According to the source, when Aisha Buhari moved to the Presidential residence of the Aso Rock Villa, she discovered there wasn’t enough space for her belongings which included the consumables and sundry spa equipment she used in her beauty and wellness business establishment in Kaduna. So, she decided to shop for an alternative space within the Villa premises, an exercise which ended with her ill-advised decision to convert the Children’s Church to her personal spa.
“The Children’s Church is under permanent lock-and-key,” our source said. “The President’s wife took over the place and plans to install a new jacuzzi and new sauna and replace some old equipment which she brought from Kaduna. Renovations and fitting of new equipment were underway before the work was stalled.”
Mrs. Buhari is founder and managing director of Hanzy Spa and Hanzy Beauty Institute, “one of the biggest spas and beauty institutes in the country located in a high-brow area of Ungwan-Rimi Government Residential Area in Kaduna”, according to The Punch. “It is the first beauty institute in Northern Nigeria and a National Board of Technical Education accredited vocational training centre and registered by the Ministry of Education.”
The May report, says that when General Buhari won the Presidential elections in March, 2015, the First Lady closed her business, a “beehive of activities”, and relocated with her husband to Abuja where he resumed office as President. She, however, did not close down the Abuja branch of her beauty business located in Wuse 2.

According to a report by Daily Post, the closure of the children’s section of the chapel has been confirmed by a Borno State-based cleric, Kallamu Musa Dikwa. He is the same pro-Buhari preacher who played a prominent and controversial role in mobilizing Christian votes for Buhari during the March elections.
Dikwa expressed surprise that President Muhammadu Buhari would allow his wife to take such an action on a Federal Government property and dared Mrs. Buhari to publicly deny his claims. The cleric also challenged the presidency to release most recent photos of the children’s church.
He said: “Let them not deceive Nigerians. I can confirm to you that that section of the church has been converted to a storage room by Mrs. Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“I don’t want to think that the President authorised her action, Nevertheless, he should have done something by now because it is a serious matter.
When asked of the items that are being put in the children’s room following its closure, Dikwa said: “I really don’t know, but I was reliably informed that she brought some items to the villa and could not get a place to keep them.
“To our dismay, she directed some staff to move the items inside the children’s church and then ordered it locked. The security operatives that initially blocked its entrance did so with her knowledge and I dare her to publicly deny.
“What my source told me is that Mrs Buhari said the children’s church is a safer place to keep the items. This is not right. Why would she insist on that particular building in a place as big as the villa? Is she saying there is no other safe place apart from a place of worship?”
Dikwa therefore called on President Buhari to salvage the sorry situation saying: “He promised to unite Nigeria; he promised not to marginalize any religion but what is going on inside Aso Rock is different.

GQ: This is kind of a silly question but how normal is your relationship?

Meek Mill: Very un-normal. It still ain’t normal. You think so?

Nicki Minaj: I definitely think we have a normal relationship off-camera. We’re like any other couple in the hood. We’re growing as a couple and as people and as human beings, but we still have our careers. And I think probably the only thing that makes it un-normal is that we’re both successful artists, and that’s probably not normal. But other than that, our feelings are very normal. Like, if I were to speak to a hundred girls right now about what they go through with their boyfriend, we’d probably have stuff in common.

GQ: How often does Meek ask you for…
NM: A kiss?

GQ: Sure. A kiss.
NM: All the time.

GQ: Well he can just probably just kiss you now, right? Without asking.
MM: Sometimes. (Laughs)

NM: Actually I love kissing him. My favorite thing about Meek is kissing him, which is weird. Just now I was like ‘damn, you’ve been asking can I kiss you a lot now,’ and it’s contagious because I used to be always asking him to kiss him when we first started talking. I love kissing him. I love the way his lips feel.
