Standup9ja: Klopp: It Felt Good To Win
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says his side fought hard for
the win against West Brom and that makes him feel fantastic.
Roberto Firmino scored the lone goal late in the first half,
scoring from a James Milner free kick, flicked on to him by Lucas Leiva.
The 1-0 win handed Liverpool 66 points and it will look to
be enough for Klopp’s men to finish fourth.
“It feels fantastic because it’s such a tough place, you
cannot influence all the things on the pitch,” Klopp told Sky Sports.
“When the ball is in the air, what can you do? You have to
wait until it comes down. That’s not about football.
“They play football and create these moments and when they
have it, West Brom are so strong. We were really there today and I liked it a
lot.”
“It was a little bit too static in the first half but I felt
we already were in a good way,” Klopp added. “We scored a wonderful goal from a
set-piece and in the second half we used the space and the movements were
better.
“We could talk about it at half-time and you could see when
we did this and that we opened the gaps and had two, three, four more big
chances.
“Again, LFC is full excitement until the end. Four
set-pieces in the last minute! [Simon] Mignolet was in there again with the
fist and it was really good.”
