Buffon: Madrid Hold Morata’s Future In Their Hands

Buffon: Madrid Hold Morata’s Future In Their Hands
Juventus veteran goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has stated Madrid hold all the cards concerning Alvaro Morata’s future.

Morata has been continually linked with a move away from Juventus, with a return to Madrid possible.

The Spain international will love to remain at Turin, but Madrid retain a buy back clause, and Buffon admits that media coverage would seem to suggest that Madrid hold all the cards.

“After reading the papers, I think that neither the player nor Juventus have a lot to say about this,” he said ahead of Italy’s friendly match with Spain.

“It’s Real Madrid who have to decide because there is a buy-back clause.

“What the player or the club where he plays wants is relative, because it seems like Madrid will decide his future.”

Morata joined Juventus on a five-year deal in July 2014 and went on to claim the domestic double and reach the Champions League final – scoring in both legs of the semi-final against Madrid – in his first season with the club.

He has scored 10 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions this term.

Mikel Obi: Iwobi And Iheanacho Are The Future Of Nigeria
Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel has hailed the new crop of super eagles youngsters, singling put Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho for praise.

The pair have both been impressive on the club scene, and the new Super Eagles captain believes they’ll be mainstays in the squad.

And Mikel, who is the new captain of the Super Eagles, has been hugely impressed by the teenagers and believes the addition of such young and hungry players to the squad has brought a new dynamic to the setup.

“It’s amazing to see these young players coming through – Iwobi and Iheanacho – they’re doing great for their clubs and I think they are the future of this Super Eagles,” Mikel told reporters.

“We have got a right blend now of older and younger players. I think it is always good to have this balance with young players so that they can learn and grow fast in the game.

“It’s quite different playing in the national team and playing in the clubs so it’s good for them to start early. In years to come I think we will see them do well.”

Muller: Gotze Is Unhappy At Bayern

Muller: Gotze Is Unhappy At Bayern
Thomas Muller has revealed, his international and club teammate, Mario Gotze is not satisfied at Bayern Munich.

The German midfielder has been limited to 12 games at the club and while injury might have played a role, he has been repeatedly linked with an exit from the club.

And Muller has intensified talk of Gotze potentially leaving the Bavarians by revealing the midfielder isn’t completely happy with his current situation.

“I speak with Mario and think he is not 100 per cent satisfied with his situation at Bayern.” Muller told a news conference ahead of Germany’s friendly clash with England on Saturday.

“I am not Mario’s agent, so I am not going to speak about his future.”

Nevertheless, Muller is confident Gotze still has a major role to play for Germany ahead of Euro 2016 this summer.

“Mario brings a quality that he always had,” he added. “I hope that he plays well with the national team and he can take advantage of his time.”
