Standup9ja: Lagos State donates 120 generating sets to
police
The Lagos State Government on Monday donated 120 power
generating sets to 107 Police Divisions and 13 Area Commands in the state to
enhance their operations.
Speaking through Mr Oye Hassan- Odukale, Chairman, Lagos
Sate Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode stressed that security was a major agenda of his
administration.
The event took place at the Lagos House.
“The idea of these generating sets came from the Governor
because anything about security is of high priority to him.
“We know the situation of security in our country today and
we on our part need to be proactive to secure the lives and property of the
citizens and make Lagos safe.
“We urge police officers to maintain these generating sets
so that they can last longer and serve you well, ” he said.
Dr Abdul-Razak Balogun, Executive Secretary, LSSTF, said the
donation was in line with the state Light-Up Lagos project to ensure that every
nook and cranny of the state were well lit.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Imohimi Edgal,
thanked the state government for the gesture and promised to make judicious use
of the generating sets.
