Standup9ja: Osinbajo Appoints New Heads For BOI, PenCom
SAN FRANCISCO, May 27, (THEWILL) – The Acting President,
Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has approved the appointment of Olukayode Pitan as the
Managing Director of the Bank of Industry, BoI, with Dikko AbdulRahman
appointed chairman of the bank’s governing board.
Osinbajo also appointed Ali Usman as chairman of the
National Pension Commission, PenCom, and named Funsho Doherty as the
Director-General of the commission.
While Pitan takes over from Waheed Olagunju who was the BoI
MD, Doherty replaces Dikko, who only spent about a month as the head of the
commission.
This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the
Director of Press in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the
Federation, Chris Okeke, who said they were with immediate effect, with
exception of those subjected to confirmation by the senate.
According to the statement, Mr. Emeka Nwakpa was made the
chairman, governing board of the Consumer Protection Council, CPC. Other
appointments were Manase Benga – executive commissioner; Zaki Magawata –
executive commissioner; Ben Ovison – executive commissioner and Nyerere Ayim –
executive commissioner.
