Standup9ja: NECO releases common entrance exams result
Federal Government has released result for the 2017 National
Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) into federal unity schools.
A statement by acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of
Education, Dr Husseini Adamu said the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu
gave approval to National Examination Council (NECO) “to release the result to
the public for access in all the state ministries of education nationwide as
well as NECO zonal offices.”
The statement said a total of 80,421 candidates registered,
but only 77, 512 candidates actually sat for the examination.
NECO said Lagos State had 24,816 candidates and was the
highest, while Kebbi State with 63 was the least. Government had earlier
pledged to release the result at least five days after the exams.
Analysis of the result showed that the highest score was 189
out of 200 scored by two candidates; Emeka-Egbuna Chinecherem C. and Onubogu
Chinazom Joyce both from Anambra State, while the least was 4 scored by 8
candidates.
Queens College, Yaba Lagos was one of the colleges with
highest subscription of 5,524, while the least subscribed college was FGGC,
Monguno Borno State with only 21 candidates.
The statement said the result could be accessed on
http://www.fmeinterview.com or through NECO zonal offices nationwide. The
ministry said the placement exercise was scheduled to take place in July, 2017.
