Standup9ja - Six commands to compete in Air
Force combat sports competition
Six Nigerian Air Force Commands are to
compete in the 2017, Air Force Combat sports competition to be held in Jos,
Plateau State.
The Chairman of the ‘Jos2017’ Air Force
Combat Sports Organizing Committee, Air Commodore Ayodele Dudusola at a press
conference on Thursday in Abuja said the event is a symbol of harmony and bonds
the competing teams.
He said the six teams competing for medals
and trophies are drawn from the Headquarters (HQ) Nigerian Air Force, HQ
Tactical Air Command, HQ Special Operations Command and HQ Mobility Command.
Others are: HQ Training Command, HQ Logistic
Command, including Direct Reporting Units and Units under each Command.
He said a total of eight events will be
featured during the competition which include; Boxing, Combat Relay, Combat
Swimming, Judo, Obstacle Crossing, Shooting, Taekwondo and Tug of War.
He said the event would also include a
casualty evacuation exercise that would involve the medical personnel,
simulating how injured combatants are removed from operational areas or flash
points.
