Standup9ja - Buhari's death wish Unislamic, inhumane – JIBWIS
Following the rumoured death
of President Muhammadu Buhari, the Jama'atu Izalatil Bid'a Wa'Ikamatis
Sunnah (JIBWIS) has scolded the rumour mongers saying that the death
wish is an act of illiteracy, unislamic and inhumane.
The group’s National Chairman
of Ulama Council, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, said those wishing Buhari
dead were those afraid of their wrong doings and were looking for a way
out, saying that the president was human like anyone and would die when
the time come.
On the high cost of food items
in the country, the Sheikh urged the federal government to as a matter
of urgency buy farm produces from farmers and sell it at subsidize
prices to enable poor Nigerians afford it, adding that this would help
reduce the current hardship in the country.
He also described Apostle Suleiman Johnson’s comment on Fulani herdsmen as "improper" and capable of causing hatred and crisis.
"Any leader irrespective of
his religious affiliation making such inciting comment lacks leadership
qualities; therefore all religious leaders should be watchful of their
statements and should preach peaceful coexistence among Nigerians," he
said.
The cleric further called on
Muslims across the country to enrol their kids in Islamic schools rather
than Almajiranci, saying that travelling with teenagers to unknown
places by some people in the name of Almajiranci was not the best
because many at times those teenagers became victims of child
trafficking and other unwanted situations.
