City are set to offer £40 million to Schalke for Sane, even though
Manuel Pellegrini insists he has enough midfielders.
“We’ve decided Leroy isn’t for sale,” he told Recklinghauser Zeitung. “And the player does not want to leave Schalke. So that’s not an issue.”
Schalke’s general manager Horst Heldt has already dismissed the idea of the club’s hand being forced by a huge bid, having claimed that no team can afford him.
Sane, who has scored four goals in 17 league games this term, has been described as a player with a “special gift” by Germany coach Joachim Low.
