Diabetes is a medical condition characterised by the increased sugar
level in blood, frequent urine, increased thirsty and hunger. There are
two classic types of diabetes. Type 1 diabetes and Type 2 diabetes. Type
1 diabetes is a chronic autoimmune disorder in which the immune system
attacks the insulin-secreting β cells in the pancreas:
Type 2 diabetes results from Insulin resistance, a condition that the
body cells fail to use insulin properly, sometimes combined with an
absolute insulin deficiency.
Insulin
Insulin is a hormone. Hormones are chemical substances that regulate
the cells of the body and are produced by special glands. The hormone
insulin is a main regulator of the glucose (sugar) levels in the blood.
Insulin is produced in the pancreas. To be more specific, it’s
produced by the beta cells in the islets of Langerhans in the pancreas.
When we eat, glucose levels rise, and insulin is released into the
bloodstream. The insulin acts like a key, opening up cells so they can
take in the sugar and use it as an energy source.
Sugar is one of the top energy sources for the body. The body gets it
in many forms, but mainly as carbohydrates that are broken down to
glucose during the digestive process. Examples of food rich in
carbohydrates are pasta, rice, bread, potatoes, and of course, all sorts
of sweets.
The cells of a person with diabetes have problems taking up glucose
due to either the lack of insulin or a resistance to insulin. Instead,
the sugar remains in the blood, resulting in the rise of blood glucose
levels.
People with type 1 diabetes must have injections of insulin every
day. Each diabetic patient needs an exact dose of insulin, calculated
especially for him or her. An overdose of insulin lowers the blood sugar
concentration. If it becomes too low, it can result in a coma and
eventually death. An overdose is treated by giving the patient sugar in a
form that is as pure as possible – for example, orange juice or table
sugar. If the patient is in a coma, glucose must be injected directly
into the bloodstream.
If a diabetic gets too little insulin, he or she can go into a coma
just as when overdosing insulin. The two types of coma are very hard to
distinguish from each other without testing the blood glucose levels of
the patient. If the levels are low, the patient suffers from an overdose
of insulin. If blood glucose levels are high, the patient doesn’t have
enough insulin.
Additional Information you need to know About Diabetes
Type 1
In type 1 diabetes the body’s immune system erroneously attacks its
own beta cells, thereby destroying insulin production. Why does this
happen? Scientists do not know, but it is likely that the condition
develops gradually in a series of steps. Starting from a hereditary
predisposition, various environmental influences (viral infections and
poisoning are suspected) have to take effect, one after the other,
before the self-destruction of insulin begins.
With insulin treatment, a type 1 patient can live a perfectly normal
life. Left untreated however, type 1 diabetes can rapidly lead to a
life-threatening situation. The kidneys strive to remove the excess
glucose, which pulls water with it and leads to heavy urination and an
insatiable thirst. The fat cells are broken down to counter sugar loss,
and toxic levels of acids build up in the blood – a condition known as
ketoacidosis. Symptoms of type 1 diabetes
excessive thirst and dehydration
frequent urination
hunger, accompanied by weight loss
blurred vision
weakness, tiredness, or sleepiness
vomiting or nausea
sudden irritability
Type 2
Type 2 diabetes begins with insulin resistance. This means that the
cells don’t react to insulin the way they are supposed to. Normally,
insulin binds to receptors on the cell surface. This activates the
cell’s glucose transporter molecules to form a doorway in the cell
membrane so that glucose can enter the cell. However, when insulin
resistance occurs, there’s a reduced response to the insulin signals.
Therefore, fewer doorways are formed and some glucose is locked out of
the cells.
Type 2 diabetes is often hard to discover. An average of seven years
passes from the onset of the disease to its diagnosis. This means that a
fraction of the patients already suffer damage to their blood vessels,
kidneys, eyes, or nerves. In most cases, type 2 diabetes patients are
instructed to lead a life with “a healthy diet and lots of exercise.”
About one out of three patients receive insulin. Many patients are
treated with a variety of oral drugs that affect blood glucose levels in
various ways. Symptoms of type 2 diabetes
fatigue
excessive thirst
frequent urination
blurred vision
mood changes
a high rate of infections
slow healing process
Diabetes – A Global Problem
Diabetes is a very common and rapidly growing disease. Type 2
diabetes was once a problem of industrialized nations, but it’s fast
becoming a global epidemic. In the year 2025, the number of adults with
diabetes in the world is expected to be 300 million. That is
approximately the same as the entire population of the United States in
2002. It is estimated that 1/3 of Americans
Diet advice for diabetic people
Diet regulation: eat little and often; stay away from foods that are
high in saturated fats or sweets; take more whole grain foods, fruits
and vegetables, nuts and seeds which can help you lower blood glucose
Lifestyle changes: take regular physical exercise; stop smoking and alcohol.
Supplement Recommended for Diabetic Patient:
Meal Cellulose Tablet
Chitosan Capsule

Fibroid is one of the greatest problems that affect women. It affects over 70% women and it is one of the causes of female infertility.
Uterine fibroid is benign tumour: which grows from muscle layers of the
womb. They cause symptoms in 50% of black women and 25% of white women. WHAT ARE UTERINE FIBROIDS?
Uterine fibroid are growths in or around the uterus. They are
completely benign and while they can have some unpleasant side effects,
they are not cancerous. TYPES OF UTERINE FIBROIDS
Intramural fibroid – which grows on or inside the wall of the uterus.
Subserosal fibroid – which grows outside of the uterine wall
Submucosal fibroid – which grows inside the uterus or womb.
Pedunculated fibroid – which grows on stalks.
Fibroids can be small and inconspicuous, about the size of a walnut
or they can be large up to the size of a grape fruit or a melon.
Alternatively, women can have multiple fibroids of varying sizes and
densities. Usually, when there is one fibroid present, there are more
fibroids. Fibroids start as small seedlings so tiny you’d need the aid
of a microscope to see them. They can then spread throughout the uterus’
muscular wall structure. IMPORTANT FIBROID SYMPTOMS
The symptoms depend on the size, number, location and pathological findings. Important symptoms are…
A sensation of fullness or pressure in the abdominal area
Interference with other organs and nerves due to their large sizes pressing on them
Urinary frequency or retention, back ache, and in some cases infertility
EFFECTS OF FIBROIDS
Pain may be experienced during sexual intercourse depending on the
location of the fibroids. Fibroids may also be the cause of the
following during pregnancy –
Furthermore, it causes broken marriage, loss of job, tiredness, leanness due to shortage of blood and sadness. CAUSES OF FIBROIDS
If you have uterine fibroids or suspect you might have fibroids, one of the things you will be wondering is ‘’why me?” This
is a very important question, and one that plagues many women who
suffer from fibroids. The simple answer to why women get fibroid is that
there is no absolute cause or none that can be directly pinpointed.
What medical researchers and physicians do know is that fibroids are
greatly affected by changing estrogen (hormone) levels, which play
a part in the fibroid tumour development and growth. The causes of
fibroids can be genetic, hormonal, environmental or some combination of
all of these. In fact, Doctors are sure that these risk factors, and
potentially causal agents, all interact with each other to increase the
likelihood of fibroid development. Factors that May Increase Fibroid Development
Increased lifetime exposure to estrogen.
This is due to early menarche, fewer pregnancies, increased follicular
phase and/or obesity. Body fat produces and stores estrogen.
Exposure to xenoe strogens such as plastics, pesticides, herbicides,
synthetic hormones in both meat and dairy products, or hormone
replacement therapy.
Poor estrogen metabolism. Some women’s bodies have a harder time removing and metabolizing excess estrogen.
Hypertension
Infection complications from IUD use
Perineal talc use
Anovulatory cycles
Endometrial hyperplasia (common in women with PCOS)
EFFECTS OF ESTROGEN ON FIBROIDS
When a woman’s estrogen level increases, for example during pregnancy, fibroid tends to grow at a more
rapid pace. Taking contraceptive pills (birth control) also floods the
body with estrogen. Women taking contraceptive pills, therefore, have
higher levels of estrogen and are more likely to develop fibroids. When
women are in menopause and level of estrogen naturally decreases,
fibroids also decrease, shrink or disappear. Basically, it all ties into
estrogen, which elevates a woman’s risk for developing fibroids. Uterine Fibroids May Negatively Impact Conception and Pregnancy
Fibroids are thought to be the cause of infertility in 2%-10% of infertility cases. Reports have shown uterine fibroids may be responsible for the following fertility, conception and pregnancy problems:
Interfere with implantation of the ovum
May compress the fallopian tubes, preventing conception
Cause anovulatory cycles
Cause abnormal uterine blood flow, hindering movement of sperm to ova
Not all women with uterine fibroids will experience these kinds of
troubles and many go on to have healthy pregnancies even with uterine
fibroids present. Because there are risks to your fertility and possibly
pregnancy, it is best to work to reduce fibroid growth, prevent
formation of new fibroids and to maintain healthy lifestyle choices to
continue working to bring about the best possible uterine health. Medical Treatment Options for Uterine Fibroids
In many cases, the effects of uterine fibroids are so minor that many
woman use a general over-the-counter pain medicine to treat any
cramping or pain associated with the fibroid tumors. Since the tumors
can also cause excessive menstrual bleeding which can lead to anemia, an
iron supplement is recommended if excessive bleeding is occurring.
In the medical world, the only successful treatment for fibroids is
surgery. The two main types of surgery used for treating uterine
fibroids are a myomectomy, which only removes the existing fibroids, and
a hysterectomy, which removes the entire uterus. Myomectomy
A myomectomy can help to remove the existing tumors that you have,
but it will not prevent the tumors from growing back (only lifestyle
changes can help to balance the body and promote hormonal balance).
However, this method of uterine fibroid removal is better of the two
surgery choices for those women that are still wanting to conceive a
child. You should also realize he dangers that are associated with
surgery. A lot of complications can arise and several cases of
unfortunate scenarios have been reported as a result of fibroid surgery. Hysterectomy
This surgical procedure removes the uterus completely. With a
hysterectomy, you can guarantee that the tumors will not grow back.
Unfortunately, there are many other side effects that can occur from a
hysterectomy including early menopause, an increased risk of
osteoporosis and of course, the inability to become pregnant. Uterine Fibroid Embolization
Another newer procedure that is being used for treating uterine
fibroids is uterine fibroid embolization. This method of treatment has
proven effective at shrinking fibroids or destroying them completely,
however it is not without side effects. This treatment should not be
used by those women that are wanting to become pregnant, since it is
known to throw the body into early menopause and can even cause infertility. NATURAL THERAPY PLAN FOR UTERINE FIBROIDS Fertility Cleansing
The best way to begin any natural fibroid treatment plan would be to
do a fertility cleansing as we offer in our Fibroid Remedy Package. A
fertility cleanse encourages the liver to cleanse the body of toxins and
excess hormones. It also supports the uterus to cleanse itself of old
stagnant blood and increases circulation to the uterus while tonifying
the uterine tissues. Reduce Exposure to Xenohormones (Xenoestrogens)
Exposure to certain environmental toxins may contribute to the
development of uterine fibroids. Xenoestrogens are a subclass of
endocrine disruptors. Endocrine disruptors, also known as xenohormones,
are human-made chemicals. These chemicals have the ability to interfere
with the natural functions and development of our bodies. The main
function of the endocrine system is to serve as our body’s message
center. Hormones deliver messages, the endocrine system coordinates
hormones.
Xenoestrogens have the ability to bind to the estrogen receptor
sites. This is particularly concerning for women with uterine fibroids.
This is because fibroid tissue is hypersensitive to estrogen, it
contains a high amount of estrogen receptors, this is why they can grow
to become quite large. Exposure to xenoestrogens can fuel uterine
fibroid growth. Ways to Avoid Xenohormones:
Eat organic foods
Avoid exposure to pesticides, herbicides and synthetic fertilizers
Use natural feminine care products
Use organic, natural body care products, including makeup
Avoid food preservatives and dyes
Use low VOC paints
Use recycled unbleached paper products
Use non-chlorinated oxygen based bleach in the laundry
Avoid plastics
avoid food items in heated nylon material
Known Xenoestrogens to Avoid:
Atrazine (weed killer)
Butylated hydroxyanisole known as BHA (food preservative)
4-Methylbenzylidene camphor known as 4-MBC (sunscreen lotions)
Erythrosine, FD&C Red No. 3, (food dye)
Bisphenol A (found in polycarbonate plastic and epoxy resin)
Ethinylestradiol (combined oral contraceptive pill, this is released
into the environment as a xenoestrogen through the urine and feces of
women who use this contraception)
Heptachlor and dieldrin, DDT (insecticides)
Diet Tips for Reducing Uterine Fibroids
Without eating a whole food diet, the body will not respond to herbs,
supplements or natural therapies as well. We suggest eating a nutrient
dense whole food fertility diet. This way of eating will create a
foundation for a healthy, properly functioning body. The Importance of Fiber
Your main focus and one of the first things you should do right now is eating more fiber. Fiber helps the body to get rid of excess estrogens. Good sources of fiber:
Dark leafy greens
Broccoli
Swiss chard
Quinoa
Chia seeds
Beans
Ground flaxseed
Whole Grains
Choose whole grains whenever possible, avoid white refined grains. Good
choices of whole grains would be brown rice, millet, spelt, buckwheat,
rye and oats. Avoid Anti-nutrients
Avoid saturated fats, sugar, caffeine, alcohol and junk foods, all of
which may contribute to estrogen dominance. We consider these
anti-nutrients, which impact fertility negatively. Increase Circulation, Reduce Pain, Manage Heavy Menstrual Bleeding
Our fibroid remedy Package works by going to the source of the
problem, helping to reduce excess estrogen that fuels abnormal fibroid
growths, and stimulating liver activity for improved estrogen
metabolism. The herbs in this Package work with your body’s natural
detoxification processes to clear congested foreign tissues such as the
fibroid tissues, while simultaneously helping to prevent new growths
from forming. Our fibroid treatment is an excellent way to promote
health and function of uterine tissues.
These and many more are the the natural composition of our Fibroid Remedy Package.
The Package will help you get rid of Fibroid and make your reproductive system come back to live in the following ways
Detoxification– the first step in moving towards
achieving good health generally is towards refreshing the body organs,
especially organs like the liver which mainly carry out the
detoxification process. When the liver overworks, it leaves some toxins
in the body which could be harmful. Our detoxification products will
help you get rid of all unwanted toxic waste lodging in your blood and
body. Your reproductive organs will come back to live.
Fibroid Elimination– With each dosage of the
treatment you take, there will be reduction in Fibroid size till you
achieve total elimination. It could be so physical to the extent that
you will see it dropping out from your vaginal piece by piece. This is
the best way to treat fibroid as this ensures that Fibroid never regrows
again.
Immune Boosting– Naturally, the body should be able
to fight back on its own in case of infection or disease. When it’s not
able to do so, it means it has been overworked or it’s lacking
necessary ingredients it needs to carry out its function. Some of the
products in our Package will help you reawaken your infection-fighting
white blood cells that have the capacity to fight against all forms of
infections and foreign bodies within your body system. This is why it
will be difficult for fibroid to still remain in you.
Anti-tumour, Anti-Bacterial, Anti-Fungal And Anti-Viral– Several kinds of tumour growths are now rampant and becoming more
dangerous to health as well as infections. Our Fibroid Remedy Package
contains products that will inhibit tumour growth in your system and
help you get rid of all forms of bacterial, fungal or viral infections
in your body.
Hormone Balancing and Fertility Boosting– One of
the main causes of Fibroid is hormone imbalance. Our holistic fibroid
remedy will help you take care of the reproductive hormones to balance
and regulate. This makes it natural for fibroid to give way and dissolve
on its own. This is also the reason why it will be impossible for
fibroid to grow again as the conditions will not be favourable for it to
grow again. When your hormones balance, your fertility will also
automatically improve and conception can take place. This is how we
treat fibroid.

Weight loss at present has become the focus worldwide not only
because of beautiful and attractive figure but also human health. The
problem of obesity annoys different age groups from children to senile
people. Maybe you are the grandmother, grandson or parents and you have
spent too much time on losing weight without any effect. Here comes the
good news for all people who want to get a healthy constitution. Green
World Slimming Care Package is introduced to shape your body and uplift
your spirit, and let’s have a close look at Obesity. What is Obesity?
Obesity is defined as a medical condition rather than a simple
overweight problem because the excessive fat can lead to a serious
adverse effect on health and increase mortality risk. Obesity increases
the risk of many physical and mental diseases like type 2 diabetes, high
blood pressure, high blood lipid, fatty liver, cardiovascular disease,
cerebrovascular disease, respiratory problems and significantly shortens
the life span.
However, people sometimes are confused with their weight. What
indicates you are overweight or obese? What means you get healthy
weight? Green World here will introduce a measurement (BMI, body mass
index) to you. Body Mass Index
The body mass index (BMI), is defined as the individual’s body weight
divided by the square of his or her height. The formulae universally
used in medicine produce a unit of measure of kg/m2.
You may calculate your BMI to compare with the BMI chart to determine how appropriate your weight is for a certain height.
BMI
Classification
< 18.5
Underweight
18.5 – 24.9
Normal weight
25.0 – 29.9
Overweight
30.0 – 34.9
Class I obesity
35.0 – 39.9
Class II obesity
≥ 40.0
Class III obesity
What causes obesity?
Diet
Overtake of high calorie food like meat, fast food, chocolate, pastry
and the sweetened beverages will cause excessive fat accumulated in
human body. Alcoholics beverages are considered as “empty” calories
because alcohol contains no beneficial nutrients, such as vitamins and
minerals. And if over eating is complemented with excessive drinking, it
won’t take time before you find yourself in a severe life threatening
problem of obesity.
Lack of physical activity
Currently, at least 60% of the world’s population gets insufficient
exercise. 25-35% of the population is inactive, meaning that they have
sedentary jobs, no regular physical activity program and are generally
inactive around the house or yard. It will eventually make you get
obesity, lose fitness and increase the risk of coronary heart disease,
high blood pressure, diabetes, colon cancer, and other health problems.
Genetics
Genes also play an important role in the development of obesity.
Children who have the obese parents are more likely to get obesity. A
family history of obesity increases your chances of becoming obese by
about 25 to 30 percent. Heredity does not destine you to be overweight,
but by influencing the amount of body fat and fat distribution, genes
can make you more susceptible to gaining weight.
Lack of Sleep
Studies find that the less people sleep, the more likely they are to
be overweight or obese. People who report sleeping 5 hours a night, for
example, are much more likely to become obese compared with people who
sleep 7 – 8 hours a night. Insulin is released during sleep that
controls appetite and normalizes blood sugar level. People who don’t get
enough sleep have insulin and blood sugar levels that are similar to
those in people who are likely to have diabetes. Also, people who don’t
get enough sleep regularly seem to have high levels of a hormone called
ghrelin (which cause hunger) and low levels of a hormone called leptin
(which normally helps curb hunger). How to prevent and treat obesity?
Diet
Take healthy diet with more fresh vegetables, fruit and whole grains.
Avoid frequenting the fast food chains. Keep junk food out of your
house as well. If you really like stuff like pizza and burgers, indulge
in them not more than once or twice in a month.
Eat slowly & only when you are hungry
Do not skip any of the three meals per day. Rather, divide them into
small meals, stretched over a gap of 2-3 hours. At the same time, cut
off high calorie snacks in between the meals. Eat small portions of food
and do not gulp them down. Do not stuff yourself with food when you are
not hungry. Eat only when your body signals you to have food. Eat
slowly because the stomach takes some time to feel ‘full’.
Drink plenty of water
Drinking lots of water will help your body detoxify all the
impurities present in the system. Doctors recommend you to drink at
least 8 – 10 glasses of water a day. Remember, water cleanses and
rejuvenates your skin as well.
Take regular physical exercise
For greatest overall health benefits, experts recommend that you do
20 to 30 minutes of aerobic activity three or more times a week and some
type of muscle strengthening activity and stretching at least twice a
week. However, if you are unable to do this level of activity, you can
gain substancial health benefits by accumulating 30 minutes or more of
moderate-intensity physical activity a day, at least five times a week. Green World Slimming Care Package
Eyes are the most important sense organs which allow us to view this colorful world. We use our eyes to distinguish different
colors and lights, change these visions and images into neural signals
and finally transmit them to brain. A saying that “eyes are the soul
windows” obviously reveals the importance of eyes. However, people will
not notice the importance of eyes until one day they loss the vision.
Eyes are quite vulnerable to many disorders like dryness, itching, pink
eye, cataract, glaucoma, myopia, hypermetropia and etc. Most people will
experience at least one of them during their life or get other
temporary eye problems from time to time. Most of this eye disorders are
short-lived will probably go away on their own. However, those eye
problems that last for more
than a couple of days will develop to serious eye disorders if left
untreated. There are314 million people are visually impaired among which
45 million are blind, 124 million have low vision and 145 million have
uncorrected refractive errors worldwide and every 5 seconds one person
goes blind in the world. Increasing numbers of people are at risk of
age-related visual impairment as the global population grows and
demographics shift to a higher proportion of older people, even in
developing countries. The Structure of Eye
The white part
of the eye is the sclera maintaining the shape of the globe, offering
resistance to internal and external forces. The cornea refracting light
is the transparent front part of the eye covering the black circle
(pupil) permitting light to enter the retina and colored ring (iris)
which is responsible for controlling the diameter and size of the pupils
and the amount of light reaching the pupil. Together with the cornea,
the lens refracts and focuses light on the retina, accounting for
approximately two-thirds of the eye’s total optical power. The retina
forms the image which will be sent to the brain by the optic nerves.
Myopia & Hyperopia (Nearsightedness and farsightedness)
Myopia which often happens to young people is a medical condition
that collimated light produces image focus in front of the retina and
those with myopia see near objects clearly but far away objects appear
blurred. Excessive near sight work like prolonged reading and sitting in
front of a computer screen is the main cause for myopia, though
heredity also plays an important role.
Hyperopia means that the image is focused behind the retina and it
often occurs to the elderly. Common signs of farsightedness include
difficulty in concentrating and maintaining a clear focus on near
objects rather than far objects, eye strain, fatigue and/or headaches
after close work. Hyperopia is typically caused by genes. What is cataract? A
cataract is a clouding of the lens or its envelop in the eye that
affects vision, varying degree from slight to complete opacity and
obstructing from passage of light. Most cataracts are related to aging
and they are very common in older people. Cataracts typically progress
slowly to cause vision loss and they are potentially blinding if
untreated. The condition usually affects both eyes; the other eye will
be gradually affected. Age-related cataract is responsible is
responsible for 48% of world blindness, which represents about 18million
people, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Cataracts
remain the leading cause of blindness. What causes cataracts?
The lens of our eyes works muck like a camera lens which focuses
light onto the retina, where the light is changed into nerve signals and
sent to the brain the lens is made of mostly water protein keeping the
lens clear and letting light pass through it. However, as we age, the
protein will jump together, making the lens cloudy and thus form a
cataract which will grow larger and affect your vision. Long-term
exposure to ultraviolet light and radiation, diabetes, hypertension and
advanced age, eye trauma and genes, which eventually lead to free
radical damage, are responsible for cataracts. Diabetes & Eye Disorders People with diabetes get eye problems at an earlier age and the condition progresses more
rapidly than in those without diabetes, though eye disorders can happen
to everyone. High blood sugar (glucose) either caused by insufficient
insulin secretion or insulin resistance will lead to many complications
like cardio-cerebralvascular disease, nerve damage, kidney disease, eye
disease and etc. Diabetic eye problem is the most common complication of
diabetes and the leading cause of blindness in adult age 20 to 74.
Diabetes can hurt four parts of your eyes- the lens, optic nerve,
vitreous and retina due to the damage of tiny blood vessels by high
blood sugar and high blood pressure. It causes the lens of the eye to
swell, increases intraocular pressure and affects the transmission of
the optic nerve, which changes your ability to see. As the passage of
time, more and more serious eye diseases will occur. These diseases include damage to the blood vessels in the retina, diabetes induced cataract and glaucoma.
How can you protect your eyes?
Check your eyes regularly and take essential measures to prevent serious eye problems.
Avoid intense light. The human eye is sensitive to strong light
which damages the retina and can even blind the individual. Wearing
sunglasses is the most common form of eye protection against intense
light – UV rays from the sun and help increase visibility in bright
conditions.
Don’t read in the sun or in a poor light; don’t read in bed or in a
moving bus. And when you read you should keep the book away from your
eyes for about a foot. Take a break after every few minutes (5mins to
15mins) reading or concentration. Look at distant things to relax your
eyes.
Increase intake of vitamin-A diet like animal liver, carrot, sweet
potato, mango as well as green, leafy vegetables (which are a great
source of the carotenoid lutein). Vitamin A can prevent night blindness,
macular degeneration, and cataracts, alleviate eye dryness and swollen
eyelids. Vitamin A deficiency is one of the leading causes of blindness
in developing countries.
Take regular physical exercise which is particularly vital for those
with diabetes. It helps to increase glucose uptake by the muscles,
enhance the ability to store glucose. Control your blood sugar and blood
pressure by regulating your life style and taking medicine and thus
reduce the risk of diabetic eye complications.
Understand your circulatory system
The circulatory system is composed of cardiovascular system including
arteries, veins, capillaries which distribute blood and lymphatic
system which distribute lymph. It functions to pass nutrients like amino
acids, electrolytes, gasses, hormones, blood cells, etc. to and from
cells in the body to help fight diseases and help stabilize body
temperature and pH to maintain homeostasis.
The blood is oxygenated when tiny blood vessels, called capillaries,
absorb oxygen from the lungs and in turn discharge carbon dioxide, which
we then exhale. These blood vessels feed into the heart, which pumps
the oxygenated blood to all cells and give off oxygen plus other
nutrients and in return receive waste products. Oxygen plus glucose is
needed to make energy within every cell of the body; the waste products
are carbon dioxide and water. The blood vessels that supply cells with
nutrients and oxygen are called arteries, while the blood vessels that
carry away waste products and carbon dioxide are called veins. Arterial
blood is brighter red than venous blood because oxygen is carried on
complex called haemoglobin, which contains iron. The pressure in the
arteries is also greater than in the veins. As well as returning to the
heart after it has visited the cells, all blood passes through the
kidneys. Here, waste products are removed, and formed into urine that is
stored in the bladder.
The human heart maintaining the blood circulation of cardiovascular
system is a chambered, muscular organ that pumps blood from veins into
the arteries by repeated, rhythmic contractions. It is about the size of
a fist between 250 and 350 grams. It is located between your lungs in
the middle of your chest, behind and slightly to the left of your
sternum (breastbone). The heart plays a vital role of life maintenance
and meanwhile cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death
worldwide. Atherosclerosis – disease of arteries and precursor of heart disease
Heart disease is wrongly named. The main life-threatening diseases
are diseases of the arteries. ASVD known as atherosclerosis is a medical
condition that the arteries become hard, narrow and thick due to the
build-up of fatty materials such as cholesterol. It is dangerous because
it is a chronic disease which begins in early adolescence and usually
remains asymptomatic. However, decades of fat deposition will form
arterial plaque or atheroma which narrows the arteries, reduces the
blood flow, increases blood pressure. Atherosclerosis, coupled with
thicker than normal blood containing clots, can lead to a blockage in
the arteries, which stops the flow of blood and leads to death of the
tissue fed by the artery in approximately 5 minutes if this catastrophic
event occurs in the arteries feeding the heart, the part of the heart
fed by these blood vessels will die from lack of oxygen. That is the
myocardial infarction (heart attack). If a blockage occurs in the brain,
the affected brain cells will die and thus cause stroke. If a blockage
cause in the legs, it can result in leg pain, which is a form of
thrombosis. When peripheral arteries get blocked this can result in poor
peripheral circulation, for example in the hands and feet. Angina
When you get atherosclerosis in the arteries of heart, there will be
insufficient blood supply to the heart due to the narrowing or partial
blockage of coronary arteries. Angina is a condition when the chest pain
occurs under different moments like exertion, severe emotional stress,
heavy meals or vigorous exercise during which the heart muscle demands more blood oxygen than partial blockage of coronary arteries can deliver. It often lasts from 1 to 15 minutes and is relieved by rest
or by placing a nitroglycerin tablet under the tongue. Nitroglycerin
can relax the blood vessels and lowers blood pressure. Both rest and
nitroglycerin decreases the heart muscles demand for oxygen, thus
reliving angina. Angina is only the sysmptom of atherosclerosis and the
sign of heart attack. Green World Products for Atherosclerosis

ObasanjoEx-President writes to Saraki, Dogara, criticizes plan to buy 469 cars
Obasanjo, in the letter dated January 13, 2016, criticized the
legislators for being insensitive to the economic situation in the
country.
Former president, Olusegun Obasanjo has written a letter to Senate President, Bukola Saraki and House of Representatives Speaker, Yakubu Dogara over plans by the National Assembly to buy 469 vehicles.
Obasanjo,
in the letter dated January 13, 2016, criticized the legislators for
being insensitive to the economic situation in the country, The Cable
reports.
“The recent issue of cars
for legislators would fall into the same category. Whatever name it is
disguised as, it is unnecessary and insensitive. A pool of a few cars
for each Chamber will suffice for any Committee Chairman or members for
any specific duty,” the former president wrote.
“The
waste that has gone into cars, furniture, housing renovation in the
past was mind-boggling and these were veritable sources of waste and
corruption. That was why they were abolished. Bringing them back is
inimical to the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians,” he added.
He
also urged the Assembly to be open about its expenditure by making
public its recurrent budgets for the years 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2015.
Treason: Kanu Trades Words With Prison Warder As Court Adjourns Bail Application Till Friday [Photos]
A mild drama ensued at the Federal
High Court premises in Abuja on Monday, January 25, as the embattled
leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and founder of Radio
Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu got himself entangled in a verbal showdown with a
prison warder during his court appearance ahead of his bail hearing.
Nnamdi Kanu Quarrels With A Prison Warder In Court During Trial: Sahara ReportersIt
was gathered that Mr Kanu, who was brought in handcuffed, refused to
come out of the prison vehicle because of the press cameras, but then
opted for an alternative entrance in the back of the court through the
elevator that is normally reserved for judges. Nnamdi Kanu in face-off with prison warder at Federal High Court on MondayA
similar drama ensued after the hearing when Kanu, while exchanging
greetings with friends and relatives, was reluctant to move towards the
elevator as demanded by prison officials. Nnamdi Kanu in face-off with prison warder at Federal High Court on MondayHe then pointed warning fingers at them and dared them to hurt him.
Sahara Reporters said the situation nearly led to fisticuffs before it was brought under control and he was led into the prison vehicle.
In
the interim, the Federal High Court has fixed next Friday for ruling on
the bail application brought by Mr Kanu. The court on Monday heard
legal arguments over his bail application.
The most consequential Nigerian political news of last week slipped under the radar.
APC: President Muhammadu Buhari (L) with Bola Ahmed Tinubu (R)Here
it is; the executive of the ruling All Progressives Congress huddled
together with President Muhammadu Buhari in the State House. They
reported their Party’s cash crunch and implored President Buhari to
start funding the Party!
A
cartoon buff who encounters the story is sure to instantly conceive a
drawing idea: APC Chairman, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, and the dozen plus
company on their knees, desperate suppliants, praying a throne-seated
Buhari to give them this day a character after the image and likeness of
Sambo Dasuki!
Newspaper reports say it was a closed door meeting.
But it doesn’t take a giant leap of imagination to surmise that Oyegun
presented the plea in the standard way Nigerians make request of their
ruler. He must have delivered it like sandwich.
Buhari would have
been repulsed if Oyegun had gone straight to the point. “Mr. President,
your party and our party, the All Progressives Congress, desires you to
officially approve that the party be a parasite on the national
treasury!’’
Oyegun, former Governor and a man of gray hairs, knows
better than to breach cultural protocol. He could not have dared to
beseech the president without first performing the foreplay of flattery
to make the ruler attentive, receptive and disposed to granting the
yet-to-be named favor.
And
so, Oyegun may have cherry picked some positive developments
attributable to Buhari’s tenure, exaggerated their significance and
declared that Buhari has wrought more
feats than other Nigerian leaders living or dead. Then, Oyegun would
sneak in the request wrapped with euphemism. And then, Oyegun would end
by praising Buhari again, smiling with the fakest authentic smile his
facial muscles can be mobilized to contrive!
Thankfully, Oyegun’s
hypnosis failed. President Buhari rejected the poisonous pitch. Buhari
refused to commit himself to being the party’s financier. Buhari asked
Oyegun to search for clean ways of funding the party’s operations.
Ordinarily,
Oyegun and co should have known that no other answer was possible in
the circumstances. Even if Buhari was not a strict ascetic, even if he
was not a man of lean taste, even if it would have been out of character
for him to accede to their demand, that proposition was against the
spirit of the times.
This is a season when the whole nation is
still reeling from the revelations of how President Goodluck Jonathan
underwrote the prodigal politics of the Peoples Democratic Party. People
are outraged that a leader and a political party that were elected to
govern worked hard to bankrupt the country. The anti-graft agencies are
still wrestling with the impossible arithmetic of summing up the heists
of the Jonathan days.
So weird is the miasma of the disclosures
from the state-sanctioned vampire politics of the PDP that Chukwuma
Soludo, former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, felicitously
compared the scale of Jonathan era looting of the Nigerian treasury to
the apocryphal story of Africa’s first class buffoon, Idi Amin, ordering
the Ugandan mint to print him money to spend!
It’s probably the
most inappropriate time for Oyegun and his cohorts could have chosen to
ask Buhari to license APC to continue the thievery of PDP!
Oyegun,
former governor and a man of gray hairs, is the face of a new party
that marketed itself as a corrective savior. APC’s motto was, and still
is, ‘’CHANGE’’. Last year, he sold that theme of CHANGE to the
constituency of disenchanted voters. He repeated countless times that
the CHANGE APC was offering is the alternative reality the Nigerian
people deserve.
While stumping for Buhari and other candidates of
APC, Oyegun rhapsodizes that the putative difference between the
philosophies of APC and the PDP was the reason the electorate should
break up with the party that has mis-governed Nigeria for 16 years. He
told the rallies that a new future was at the fingertips of Nigerians.
They could recreate their future by deploying their thumbprint.
After
APC won the presidency and the governorship of a majority of States in
Nigeria, Oyegun promised that his party would wear power responsibly.
APC would be a governing party. Not a ruling party.
Nobody knew
that given the opportunity of an audience with President Buhari behind
closed doors, Oyegun, former governor and a man of gray hairs, would not
advance the leader of Africa’s most populous country constructive
counsel or a policy proposal. Oyegun would, instead, urge Buhari to
destroy Nigeria. Oyegun would advise Buhari to unleash APC on the
treasury–to calamitous effect!
It should have been obvious to the
Oyegun delegation that Buhari would disappoint them. Buhari, a man who
owes both his public persona and very human essence to a claim to rigid
integrity, cannot be swayed to replicate the fraud of feeding the
‘’party in power’’ on the national treasury. The tiniest credible leak
of such arrangement would precipitate a spate of events that would erase
Buhari’s very existence!
Oyegun and the adults he took on that
shameful mission know this. But it seems that they were deceived by
their own optimism. Buhari might indulge them if they tried. And they
would experience fairy tale enrichment like Anthony Anenih, Olisa Metuh,
Haliru Bello, Jim Nwobodo, Olabode George, Attahiru Bafarawa, and
others.
Or probably, Oyegun and his associates were, indeed,
cognizant of the irredeemable foolishness of their agenda but had,
nevertheless, collectively decided to push it. Maybe they had hoped that
their sheer number would exert a magical effect on Buhari.
Oyegun
probably curses his stars. He is the chairman of the wrong ruling
party. If he had been the chairman of the PDP in the days of Jonathan,
Oyegun would not have to cry for funds, like a baby cries for its
feeding bottle. Oyegun would be in have been in Jonathan’s bosom,
sucking nourishment non-stop! Consider the request one more time.
Oyegun
and his team had not asked Buhari to make a one-off intervention to
help APC address a financial emergency. They did not ask him for a
one-time bailout. They had asked him for perpetual funding. Feed us
money every day.
In
a manner of speaking, they asked Buhari to construct a pipeline of
petro-cash, stretching from the presidency to APC national secretariat.
He would build the conduit and maintain the flow. Money must be ever
surging at the right velocity. So that Oyegun, other officials and
chieftains of the party may be protected from lack. So that they may be
eternally happy. So that the may remain loyal to the source!
Now,
how does Oyegun expect Buhari to conjure the windfall to foot the
party’s bills day by day, week by week, and month by month and year by
year? From Buhari’s private bank? From Buhari’s half-presidential
salary? Through some money ritual?
Oyegun, without a doubt,
presumes that President Buhari sits atop Nigeria’s riches. Buhari has
the carte blanche to spend taxpayers’ money as he pleases. Oyegun also
believes that it is right for the leader of a democratic nation to
channel the resources of the entire citizenry to the mundane affairs of
the one political party of his preference.
Thus, Oyegun might be
said to be blissfully unaware that he was a tempter, prodding Buhari to
felony. Never mind that Oyegun has authored and signed about ten press
statements, disparaging PDP and its leaders for robbing Nigeria and
Nigerians under the pretext of doing the duty of governance.
Oyegun
believes his party is entitled to its own spoil time. CHANGE to Oyegun
means a set of would-be thieves displacing the old occupying gang. And
the new thieves stealing with the old thieves’ playbook!
Oyegun’s
concept of a political party is flawed. His idea of a ruling party is
one that wins power as a means to hijacking the national treasury. His
interpretation of the party in power is the party in money!
And, it may well be that Oyegun’s vision is to make APC overtake PDP in infamy!
Now,
why did the APC turn to Buhari for funding? Is he the party’s
benefactor of first resort? Is the party Buhari’s private concern? Is
Buhari the only member of the party?
By asking him to assume the
obligation of financing the party singlehandedly, though his total
legitimate earnings as head of state would prove grossly insufficient,
isn’t the APC goading Buhari to rob the country to pay the party?
It
looks yesterday when APC conducted a nationwide registration of its
members. While the exercise progressed, the party announced that it was
close to capturing the particulars of 25 million people in its digital
register!
The natural question to ask is, where are the million
members APC had touted. Have they all vanished from our shores? Or are
they so small in number their dues can’t fund the party?
Before
Oyegun and his vanguard of august beggars destroy Buhari, I am
constrained to advise that Oyegun and APC executive stay away from the
Villa and look elsewhere for funds. If they are incapable of enhancing
the President’s ability to govern whenever they engage him, they should
not inflict themselves on precious presidential time. They should not
convert Buhari to thievery.
Instead of pestering Buhari to gift
APC a Dasuki-like ATM, Oyegun should ask Google how political parties of
advanced democracies fund themselves!

Lionel Messi marked his return from injury in style as he sent Barcelona to the top of La Liga with a 2-1 win at Malaga.
Lionel Messi marked his return from injury in
style as his stunning volley sent Barcelona top of La Liga with a
hard-fought 2-1 victory at Malaga on Saturday.
Messi missed Barca's 2-1 Copa del Rey win over Athletic Bilbao in
midweek because of a hamstring problem, but was typically influential at
La Rosaleda - earning all three points with a sumptuous finish from
Adriano's cross.
The Argentina captain also had a hand in his side's first goal as
Munir El Haddadi broke the deadlock for Barca - who were missing Neymar
through injury - by capping off a wonderfully worked attack with a
second-minute tap-in.
Malaga fought back well, however, and were rewarded for piling
pressure on the Barcelona goal when Juanpi levelled in the 32nd
minute. Attacking midfielder Juanpi pounced of some poor defending from
Barca to equalise with a deflected close-range strike.
Yet Barca were not to be denied and in the 52nd minute Messi settled
matters with a marvellous show of technique to move Barca one point
clear of Atletico Madrid, who take on Sevilla on Sunday.
Barca broke down the Malaga defence almost immediately as Messi
played Luis Suarez in down the right with a superb pass, with the
Uruguay forward - who replays suggested was marginally offside - then
squaring for Munir to tap into an empty net from a yard.
Malaga responded excellently to going behind and went agonisingly close to levelling in the 14th minute as Claudio Bravo turned Gonzalo Castro's drive from the edge of the area against the post.
The home
fans were left incensed when Malaga were denied a penalty in the 25th
minute, Charles booked for diving under a challenge from Javier
Mascherano after Barca had carelessly conceded possession in their own
half.
But Barca failed to learn their lesson from that scare and were deservedly pegged back seven minutes later.
This time Mascherano was at fault as the Argentinian failed to
properly clear his lines, allowing Charles to tee up Juanpi to hit home at the end of a well-worked team move.
Barca had failed to threaten the Malaga goal after opening the
scoring but would have retaken the lead if not for Malaga goalkeeper
Carlos Kameni and some fine last-ditch defending.
Kameni did well to parry Munir's left-footed strike across the face
of goal and Messi was denied on the rebound as Miguel Torres produced a
brilliant block.
Thomas Vermaelen was replaced by Jeremy Mathieu after half-time
and seven minutes after the restart Messi restored Barca's advantage in
sublime fashion, meeting Adriano's inswinging cross from the left with a
magnificent acrobatic volley that left Kameni with no chance.
Malaga refused to lie down, though, with Bravo forced into action by Castro's cross-cum-shot.
Adriano was then forced off through injury for Barca before Ignacio
Camacho was thwarted by the in-form Bravo as Barca saw out the game to
put the pressure on Diego Simeone's men at the top.
Key Opta stats:
- Munir El Haddadi has scored in three of the last Barcelona's four games.
- No player has assisted more goals in La Liga in 2016 than Luis Suarez (3).
- Leo Messi is going through his best scoring run in La Liga this season, having scored in a third-successive game (5 goals).
- Claudio Bravo made the most saves in a single game since he joined Barcelona (8).
- Barcelona's last 12 goals against Malaga have been scored by different
players: Thiago, Fabregas, Iniesta, Montoya, Villa, Adriano, Pedro,
Pique, Alexis, Vermaelen, Munir and Messi.
- This is first Barcelona's away win in La Liga since beating Real Madrid at the Bernabeu 4-0 in November.

NLCWorkers union condemns renewed pipelines vandalisation in Niger-Delta
Wabba said that pipeline vandalism was a threat to national security; therefore, the issue should not be taken lightly.
The Nigeria Labour Congress
(NLC) on Sunday in Abuja condemned the renewed blowing-up of major oil
and gas pipelines by suspected militants in the Niger-Delta region.
Mr Ayuba Wabba, NLC President, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the issue of national security should not be taken lightly.
``Pipeline vandalism is highly condemnable; this should not be allowed to happen in a civilized society,’’ he said.
According
to him, oil and gas pipeline vandalism will contribute largely to the
air and water pollution of the region and reduce the revenue base of the
country.
Wabba said that pipeline vandalism was a threat to national security; therefore, the issue should not be taken lightly.
He
advised the Niger-Delta militants to engage in dialogue with the
Federal Government rather than confrontation in resolving issues.
He
urged the Federal Government to sustain the amnesty programme as it
would serve as a means of addressing some of the challenges in the
region.
``I hope that the renewed blowing-up of
major oil and gas pipelines is not as a result of the ongoing probe of
some political leaders in the region.
`` Our call
is that the government should remain focus in its fight against
corruption and it should not be tired by whatever pressure.
``We also want to appreciate what the security agencies have been able to do in terms of protecting the pipelines in the region, they should put in more efforts to contain the crisis, '' Wabba said.
He
assured Nigerians that the NLC would give its support to the Federal
Government to protect important installations in the region and the
country at large.
Chris Brown Gets Ultimate Revenge On Woman Who Claimed He Assaulted Her
The superstar singer is taking steps to ensuring that he does not get more haters coming for him this year.
A
woman named Liziane Gutierrez claimed weeks ago that Chris Brown
assaulted her while clubbing in popular LA club, 1OAK. Of course,
everyone was quick to judge the Singer because of his past.
However,
Chris at the time posted an Instagram message which led many to believe
the woman was lying.
Well, if you needed more proof about that, the Loyal singer has given you.
According
to reports, 1OAK has forever banned the woman who claimed Chris
assaulted her. She was allegedly at the popular club earlier in the week
and was denied entry.
Reports claim that this can happen because Breezy
is a regular at this popular spot and, is close friends with the owner
of the club.
Well, looks like Ms Liziane won’t be seeing the insides of a 1OAK club ever again.
“Kanye West Is A Talentless A**wipe”, Thousands Sign Petition Against Him
Why would anyone sign a petition against our dear old Kanye? This entreaty which spawned from the webs of 38degrees.org,
an organization good at running petitions against things they find
repulsive (such as the idea of a grammy-award winner doing a cover of
his mentor’s song).
Led
by darken raul himself, Peter Piranha. David Bowie would be glad Kanye
deemed him worthy of a cover. They both share a love for creativity.
‘I don’t know where I’m going from here, but I promise it won’t be boring.’ – David Bowie ‘I have no interest in working with anyone who is too important or too good or too traditional to take a call at 3am.’ – Kanye West
The speculation which began in the carcass of a tabloid called daily star, stated a source from Kanye’s camp as saying,
“Some are straightforward covers with Kanye actually singing. On others he is rapping with his own lyrics over Bowie’s music,”
Following reports of claims on the internet,
the idea of the Grammy winner doing a cover for some of Bowie’s hit
singles seems seedy for some, while for others, it’s plain ol’hating. A
rep from Kanye’s camp reportedly spoke to TMZ about the fakeness of the
story. ”Kanye has no intention to do a cover or any cover or even touch any of Bowie’s songs in anyway, shape or form.” Still,
that didn’t stop over twenty-thousand people from turning on their
wi-fi or data to post some very supportive as well as vile comments.
One
fan said, respect his music and the comeback was harsh. A commenter
responded, what music, That’s funny – you said that almost like you
think he knows what music is. Nothing in his catalog suggests that he
has a fucking clue. What he does “make,” is the ignorant rambling of
Illiterate ghetto trash.
When Kanye was defined as a good rapper, the fan commented, “good”
and rapper” are mutually exclusive terms – they’re actually
diametrically opposed – there is no such thing as good illiterate ghetto
trash babbling. . . it’s all just. . . the ignorant babbling of
illiterate ghetto trash. When did being a lowlife hoodrat become
something to aspire to rather than something to be overcome?
Daniel said, Many
other musicians I could be fine with. It’s not the music we are
against, it is the individual who only wants to further promote himself.
And there is nothing of Bowie’s I want to here coming out of that POS’s
mouth. If that makes me, and I’m sure many others who feel the same,
ignorant and thick, then so be it!
A columnist with Bocar la doza stated. Releasing
or not releasing a David Bowie tribute album, Kanye West still’s a
talentless douchecanoe, the worst thing to happen to music and an
insult. Harsh!
I’m not a fan of Kanye. I don’t really care about him at all. Having said that…
YOU
STUPID MORONS. Why would you stop someone from honoring someone else?
Get out of your holier-than-thou asses and find something useful to do.
In Kanye’s defense, vibes stated,
There
is no Kanye West: Tribute to David Bowie album. It never existed, ever,
even as a twinkle in someone’s eye. In a statement to TMZ earlier this
morning, a representative for Yeezy rubbished The Daily Star’s claims.
Yet even before Kanye’s team responded, there was no tribute album.
An “anonymous source from The Daily Star” is essentially a warning that what you’re about to read is one gigantic lie.
According to independent,
David Bowie liked hip-hop, specifically West’s latest collaborator, Kendrick Lamar
“For
his new album ★, “we were listening to a lot of Kendrick Lamar,” his
long-serving producer Tony Visconti told Rolling Stone.
