Ayeni Replaces Dangote As Chairperson Of NASCON


 The richest man in Africa, Aliko Dangote, has resigned as the director of the National Salt Company of Nigeria (NASCON) Allied Industries Plc, as Mrs Yemisi Ayeni, a former finance director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo) has been appointed as chairman of the board of directors of the company.

This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday, December 19, in Lagos by Mr Adedayo Samuel, the Company Secretary.
According to the statement, Mr Paul Farrer was appointed the Managing Director while Mr Olakunle Alake, Halima Aliko-Dangote, Knut Ulvmoen, Sada Ladan-Baki, and Abdu Dantata were appointed as Directors.
A notice also from the Nigerian Stock Exchange said the resignations were ratified at the Company’s Board meeting held on Tuesday, 15 December 2015.
The statement said that the incumbent Chairman of Diamond Bank, Dr Chris Ogbechie, and Mrs Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman were also appointed to the board as non-executive directors.

Ayeni was appointed, following the resignation of former Directors – Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Sani Dangote and Suleiman Olarinde.
She is the current Chief Executive Officer, Filmo Group of Companies, a key player in the Nigerian real estate sector and former member of the Lagos State University Governing Council.
