Ministerial Screening Continues: Amaechi, Aisha Abubakar Face Senate Today

As the Nigerian Senate resumes ministerial screening for today, October 20, 2015, as 19 ministerial nominees get ready to answer questions raised on the floor of the House, strong indications have on Monday emerged that former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi and Aisha Abubakar, who have petitions against them, will be screened today.



This is coming on the heels of positive reports the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions is set to present before the Senate this morning on petitions written against them by their petitioners from Rivers and Sokoto states respectively.

Of the first 21 nominees from ‘batch A’, 18 have been screened, leaving 16 nominees from ‘batch B’, and two from the first list yet to be quizzed.
The 18 confirmed ministers are: Udoma Udo Udoma (Akwa Ibom state), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti state), Audu Ogbeh (Benue state), Ogbonnaya Onu (Ebonyi state), Osagie Ehanire (Edo state), Abdulrahman Dambazau (Kano state), Lai Mohammed (Kwara state), Amina J Mohammed (Gombe state), Suleiman Adamu (Jigawa state), Ibrahim Jibril (Nasarawa state), Babatunde Fashola (Lagos state), Dr. Ibe Kachikwu (Delta state), Abubakar Malami (Kebbi state), Chris Ngige (Anambra state), Aisha Jummai Alhassan (Taraba state), Solomon Dalong (Plateau state), Kemi Adeosun (Ogun state), Hadi Sirika (Katsina state).
It was learnt that today’s screening will be for only 8 ministerial nominees, they include:

2. Heineken Lopkobiri
3. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi
4. Khadija Abba Ibrahim
5. Bawa Bwari
6. Ocholi Eneojo James
7. Mansur Muhammed
8. Zainab S. Ahmed
